Senior executives from Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways highlighted their respective airlines’ U.S. route reopenings, enhanced safety measures, and continued commitment to a superior travel experience in a webinar hosted by the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council. Please click here to view a recording of the videoconference.

A short summary of these developments, which where detailed by Mr. Andrew Bunn, Vice President of Sales for the U.S. at Emirates Airline, and Mr. Vincent Frascogna, Vice President, Americas at Etihad Airways, can be found here. This videoconference, which took place on August 4th 2020, concluded the Business Council’s first webinar series titled “Looking Ahead: Conversations with U.S. and U.A.E. Business and Government Leaders.”

After warmly thanking the U.A.E.’s leadership for their response to the crisis and for their continued support, the two panelists provided Business Council members and partners with important updates relating to their current passenger routes and anticipated reopening of additional U.S. routes. From August 15th, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York JFK, and Washington, D.C. will be served by Emirates and/or Etihad.

Mr. Bunn and Mr. Frascogna also discussed the strict cleaning protocols their airlines have implemented and the other unique measures they have taken to ensure the health and safety of passengers. Mr. Bunn spoke about Emirates’ plans to cover certain healthcare costs in the unlikely event passengers catch Covid-19 during a flight and Mr. Frascogna expanded on the Abu Dhabi airline’s Wellness program, championed by specially trained Wellness Ambassadors. Both panelists underlined how Emirates and Etihad remain committed to delivering the stellar customer service that has differentiated them from their peers and made them global brands.

Following the panelists’ remarks, Business Council President Danny Sebright moderated a lively question and answer session with Mr. Bunn and Mr. Frascogna on testing requirements, extra precautions travelers can take at the airport as well as in-flight experience.

The video call was attended by over 200 senior executives from leading American and Emirati companies as well as by U.S. and U.A.E. government officials.

The Business Council looks forward to involving its members and partners in its “Back to Business” webinar series, starting in September and running through the fall. For more information please contact Ms. Mary Zuccarello at mzuccarello@usuaebusiness.org.
