The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council and AmCham Abu Dhabi hosted a luncheon discussion with their members for G42 Cloud CEO Talal Al Kaissi on 25 May 2022 at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Mr. Al Kaissi discussed G42 Cloud’s efforts to build the MENA region’s “largest and most powerful cloud infrastructure” designed to make organizations more “intuitive, agile, and efficient to solve real-world challenges.”  Moreover, he explained the guiding mission of his parent company, G42,  to “champion AI as a tool that powers progress, propelled by the combined efforts of people and technology.”

Mr. Al Kaissi detailed the ways in which G42 Cloud’s world-class infrastructure leverages the power of AI to deliver superior performance that enables various enterprise customers in the industry verticals G42 operates, including Healthcare, Smart Cities, Energy, Financial Services, Public Sector, and many more.  Al Kaissi explained that one of the key strengths of G42 Cloud is that it enables countries to have independent sovereign cloud architecture with guaranteed data residency not subject to outside jurisdictions and have localized operations. Al Kaissi predicted this requirement will be increasingly important in today’s data sensitive environment for governments and enterprise customers.  He also noted that G42 Cloud operates the Artemis High Performance Computer (HPC), one of the world’s TOP500 supercomputers, which it offers as a service to multiple clients and industries.

Mr. Al Kaissi spoke of G42 Cloud’s broader initiatives in the U.A.E. and growing international footprint where it provides a version of its sovereign cloud architecture to various countries looking to emulate the U.A.E.’s digital transformation journey.

Mr. Al Kaissi also highlighted areas that are ripe for collaboration and partnership with local and international businesses. He added that while U.S. corporations continue to lead in this sector and are the largest global players, G42 currently competes in the regional context and aims to capture the global market in niche areas. He noted the important work U.S. businesses have done worldwide in with cloud technology, and emphasized G42 Cloud’s willingness to collaborate with these global leaders particularly ecosystem partners in the Software as a Service area. This potential collaboration would further strengthen the ability of G42 Cloud and other organizations to solve real-world challenges with expertise and efficiency. Al Kaissi argued that one of the key strengths of G42 was that it was agnostic to technology vendors and was willing to partner with any company that offered the best products and opportunities for collaboration.

During the session, Mr. Al Kaissi shared pride and benefit in having investors at the G42 level such as Silver Lake and Mubadala Investment Company as the various peers in the portfolios of both respectively can benefit from the opportunity to partner with, and offer their services on, or receive benefit from, what G42 Cloud provides. He also spoke of the U.A.E.’s embrace of leading-edge technologies, and how G42 Cloud’s unique proposition is complimentary to other cloud service providers in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.

This event was exclusively curated for both U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council and AmCham Abu Dhabi members.
